"IMPORTANCE OF NGO IN SOCIETY"
Education is considered, the most important aspect of society, in India a great number of children are deprived of education most drop out due to lack of resources, and others especially the girl child seldom get the chance to experience the luxury of education. it is important for NGOs like the Madhuvan foundation to sept forth and intervene in the matter by reaching remote areas, rural and urban slums where the majority of the poverty and migrant population reside.
According to the National Sample Survey Seasonal migration, child labor, poor infrastructures of schools, lack of teachers, distance, lack of resources at home and illiterate parents are the major causes of children dropping out of school or not opting to go to school at all. with the pandemic bringing with it, stringent lockdown measures aggravated the problem. Confusion with the rules, the closing of schools, lack of socio-economic resources assisted by digital poverty, and lack of access to technology deprived these underprivileged children of the little education they were able to get.
NGOs in India usually work together with the government with the objective of the universalization of elementary education. NGOs usually work at small grassroots level which has a greater impact on the ground reality of these underprivileged sections of society. with the help of people in the surrounding community, NGOs work to improve education, social welfare, reduce poverty, and develop civil society. NGOs can be seen as alternative parallel agencies which are working on the ground level to promote awareness, sensitize and bring change and improvement in society.
The major objective of educational NGOs in India includes increasing the number of children attending the schools, helping these children and their communities to learn skills required for their cognitive development and future employment. The NGOs play an important role in provide inclusive education to children with special needs and work as a catalyst to bring sustainable change in the lives of the children with a life-cycle approach to development.
